Trump and his m.a.g.a. cult have made it abundantly clear; they intend to expand their power in November. They are doing everything they can to make sure the elections are run in such a manner that Democratic votes are eliminated or discounted.
Despite polls showing trumps popularity at the lowest level for any president in the history of the United States, their determination, and the blind obedience of the cult, make it dangerously possible that they will reach their goal.
There is no limit to the depths to which they will sink to discredit opponents, smear decent candidates, and make up blatant lies about their opposition.
Can you imagine the uproar from the radical right if President Obama or President Biden would have created the fiasco that m.a.g.a calls ‘The Great American State Fair’? Or if either of them would have destroyed a historic part of the White House? Of destroyed part of the White House lawn to hold a low-IQ martial arts event?
The list goes on and on but the point is this: There is no limit to the excuses m.a.g.a will create to cover up for the gross mishandling of the office of President of the United States of America foisted on the public of this once great country.
If decent Americans do not turn out for the November elections in numbers which far exceed previous years the we will be doomed to the inevitable total collapse of democracy in this country. Trump leaves no doubt as to his intentions; stay in power as long as possible and use his corrupt courts against his political enemies and immigrants who he considers to be thugs and criminals.
m.a.g.a., in their consummate loyalty to their insane leader, absolutely refuse to hold trump responsible for the many illegal, immoral, unethical occurances which are the cornerstones of his administration.
Incompetence seems to be the only requirement for positions of importance in Washington, D.C. It is unfathomable how such grossly unqualified individuals can be placed in positions of control over agencies about which they know absolutely nothing.
And, it is exactly this aspect of the current government which is attempting to destroy the constitutional voting method in America.
Congress is hell-bent to pass laws disenfranchising legitimate voters who are not m.a.g.a, and make it almost impossible for many legitimate, eligible voters to do so. That is how dictatorships are formed.
Trump has already made it clear that he cares ZERO about the constitution. George W. Bush reputedly said that the constitution was “just a piece of paper”. Trump considers it to be just a piece of toilet paper. Except, of course, for the 2nd amendment.
The fact that the 22nd amendment limits a president to two terms means nothing to him. Nor does the 1st amendment which guarantees freedom of speech.
With perhaps the most corrupt Supreme Court in the history of the USA, trump and his cohorts are almost guaranteed protection from court actions against their illegal power grabs and illegal voter suppression laws.
November will not be the time to sit back and say,” midterm elections don’t really mean much, after all”. Now, more than ever before, they mean EVERYTING. We are on the verge of losing our democracy (republic, for those of you who are sticklers for detail) to an administration and cult whose sole intent is total domination and control.
